Job Description
The Retention Specialist is responsible for saving and retaining customers requesting to disconnect service. Specialists will interface with our Sales, Network, and Customer Operations contacts to resolve the customer's account and product issues if necessary. Job one is providing the highest quality customer experience. Once the customer's issue is resolved and the customer is satisfied, our Specialists are required to transition the call into sales by educating and offering products and services that would be to the customer's advantage. A Retention Specialist will speak to approximately 50 customers per day.
Position Requirements
- College Degree preferred, but not required
- 3-5 years of previous customer service and sales experience
- Strong computer skills using Windows based systems
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights & weekends
- Must be willing to sell Sprint Nextel products or services on every eligible call
- Sprint is a drug screen and background screening employer.
Shift Information
- Weekday hours of operation: Monday through Friday 7am – 10pm
- Saturday hours of operation: 8am to 5pm.
For the first 6 months on the job, count on working 1pm – 10pm. Everyone is required to work one Saturday per month. After 6 months on the job, employees become eligible for a shift bid process held quarterly; it is based on performance, not tenure.
Pay
- Base pay rate is $15.39 per hour ($32,000 per year), plus commission
- Commission is based on meeting goals for customer retention. Individuals meeting retention goals can earn up to $2600 per month in incentives.
- Retention Specialists become eligible for benefits after 31 days of employment.
Training
The first 4 weeks will be devoted to a full time, paid training program. Training is held Monday-Friday from 8am – 5pm. Once you have successfully completed training, you will need to be flexible to work anytime during the hours of operation, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
